George Petersen Welcomes Bruce Okrepkie as surety & construction operations manager

Bruce Okrepkie has joined the George Petersen Insurance Agency’s Santa Rosa office as a commercial lines producer. Okrepkie has more than 30 years of insurance experience, with an emphasis on the construction industry. He will be responsible for managing the agency’s surety and construction operations.

Okrepkie’s career in Sonoma County dates back to 1984, when he joined the former Ellingson & Jones. As bond department manager, he oversaw the firm’s surety operations for California and Oregon. He stayed with the company through its merger with ABD in 1993 and again with Wells Fargo in 2007. He most recently served as vice president for Woodruff-Sawyer & Co.’s construction practice in the North Bay.

Okrepkie’s professional affiliations include current service on the board of the Northern California Association of General Contractors (AGC) and as a planning commissioner for the town of Windsor. He is also involved with the North Coast Builders Exchange (NCBE), National Association of Surety Bond Professionals (NASBP), American Subcontractors Association (ASA) and the Engineering Contractors Association (ECA).
