Joe started in the insurance industry in 1981, selling life and health insurance. He then began selling Property & Casualty Insurance in 1982. Working for some well-established agencies in Redding, Joe learned a great deal about the insurance industry and made the decision to buy into SFI Insurance in 1992. After many years, Joe became the majority principal and had a very successful run with some great employees to work with. SFI later transitioned to George Petersen Insurance Agency in 2019. Joe has enjoyed helping his community by serving on many boards throughout the area. Currently, Joe acts on the AUHSD School Board, ROP Board, Historical Society Board, and on the Shasta College Foundation Board.
